Ariston Washer Error Codes: Every F Code in One Table — Meaning and Fix

When an Ariston washer struggles, it doesn’t leave you guessing — it writes an F letter and a number on the display, or blinks its lights in a fixed pattern. That code is the washer’s language, and this page is the full dictionary: every symbol in one table, with its meaning and the safe step to try before calling a technician.

The full table: F codes from F01 to F18

Group one — the codes that come up every day

H2O — water not entering, or entering very slowly: open the tap fully and clean the mesh filter at the hose inlet. Persisting with good pressure = the inlet valve. F05 — a drainage problem: the filter is blocked in the vast majority of cases — clean it (the small door at the bottom of the front) and check the hose for kinks. Persisting = the drain pump. See the detailed F05 guide. F08 — no heating: quick test — the door glass is completely cold after half an hour of a 60-degree program = the heater or its sensor. F02 — the motor isn’t turning (tacho signal missing): unplug and confirm the drum turns freely by hand. Persisting = the motor, the rotation sensor or the board. F01 — a short in the motor circuit: try a direct socket without an extension, once. Recurring = a board and motor check — don’t repeat it much. F04 — the water-level sensor: unplug for a few minutes and restart. Persisting = the sensor or its hose.

Group two — the board and electronics

F06 — a button/control-panel fault: try another program — if all the buttons hang, it’s the panel or its connections. F07 — the heater isn’t submerged in water / a connection fault: make sure water is entering normally first. F09 — a software/memory error: unplug for a full 10 minutes — persisting = programming or a board change. F10 — no signal from the level sensor: unplug and restart — then a sensor check. F11 — the drain pump isn’t responding: clean the filter first — persisting = the pump coil or its connections. F12 — the display and board aren’t communicating: unplug and restart — then check the connections and both boards.

Group three — drying and locking (F13–F18)

F13 / F14 / F15 — the drying circuit (on washers with a dryer): unplug and try once — persisting = the drying sensor or heater. F16 – F18 — drum/door lock or board processor: close the door until you hear the lock and try — persisting = the door lock or the board.

3 rules before dealing with any code

Try the safe fix once or twice only — repeating start-up on a fixed fault turns one fault into two. The code shortens the diagnosis — when you call, say the code in the first sentence: the technician arrives with the likely part for your model. Older models blink instead of writing — count the consecutive blinks before the stop: 5 blinks = F05 usually, and so on.

💬 Photograph the code or count the blinks and send with the model number on WhatsApp: 01050887010 — a free initial diagnosis before any visit

Bottom line

Ariston codes aren’t a threat — it’s your washer helping you: H2O and F05 you usually solve yourself in minutes, F08 you confirm by hand, and the rest is solved in one visit with a genuine part and a written 6-month warranty. Save this page — and any code that puzzles you, we’re on 16062 around the clock. For the full fault reference, see the washing machine repair guide.

Frequently asked questions

How do I read the error code on an Ariston washer?

Models with a display show the code directly (an F letter and a number). Older models without a display say the same code through flashing lights: count the consecutive blinks before the stop — that number is usually the code. Photograph the display or count the blinks and send it to us on WhatsApp with the model.

What's the most common code on Ariston washers?

From the reports: F05 (a drainage problem — usually the filter) is the most common by far, then H2O (water not entering) and F08 (no heating). All three have detailed step-by-step guides with us, and most F05 and H2O cases are solved at home without a technician.

The code disappears when I unplug and comes back — what do I do?

Unplugging clears the code temporarily, it doesn't fix its cause. If the code returns after restarting, it's a real, fixed fault — stop repeating the attempt (some faults worsen with repetition) and call with the code ready, because it saves half the diagnosis time.

A code appeared that isn't in the table — what is it?

Codes vary slightly between generations and models, and your washer's manual is the final reference. Photograph the code and send it with the model number on WhatsApp 01050887010 — the washer technician will reply with its meaning on your specific model, and the initial diagnosis is free.
