Most Common Ariston Washer Faults: Symptoms, Causes & What You Can Try

Before you call, understand what's happening. For each fault below: likely causes, one safe step to try yourself, and when a technician is genuinely needed. Try the safe step only — opening the machine yourself risks your safety and usually makes the fault worse.

Washer not spinning

Symptoms

laundry comes out soaking wet, or the machine stops before the spin stage.

Causes

a drainage problem blocking the spin stage (clogged filter), an unbalanced load making the balance sensor cancel the spin, a worn belt, or motor brushes on traditional-motor models.

Try safely

redistribute the laundry, reduce the load, clean the pump filter, then run a spin-only cycle. If it recurs, the fault is mechanical or electronic — call 16062 and stop retrying before the damage doubles.

Not draining (often code F05)

Symptoms

water standing in the drum after the cycle, or the program stops before rinsing showing F05.

Causes

pump filter clogged with lint and coins — the #1 cause, kinked or blocked drain hose, or a failed drain pump.

Try safely

unplug the machine, put a towel down, open the small door at the bottom front and clean the filter, and check the hose for kinks. If the pump is silent or hums without draining, it likely needs a genuine replacement — one of the parts our technicians carry ready.

Not heating the water (code F08)

Symptoms

laundry comes out cold even on hot programs, detergent half-dissolved, weaker results — sometimes with F08.

Causes

a burnt heating element or one insulated by limescale (our water is hard), a failed temperature sensor, or the heater relay on the board.

Try safely

touch the door glass 30 minutes into a 60° program — if completely cold, the heater is not working. Distinguishing heater vs sensor vs board needs meter testing — exactly what the free inspection covers.

Not filling, or filling very slowly (H2O)

Symptoms

the machine runs but water does not enter, or takes very long, with H2O on the display.

Causes

closed tap or weak pressure, sediment-clogged mesh filter at the machine inlet, a kinked inlet hose, or a failed inlet valve (solenoid).

Try safely

open the tap fully, then close the water, disconnect the hose and clean the small mesh filter. If pressure is fine and it persists, the valve usually needs replacing — a quick, relatively inexpensive fix.

Water leaking from the door or underneath

Causes

a cracked door gasket or a small object trapped in it — the most common front-load leak, loose drain/inlet hose connections, a blocked detergent drawer overflowing, or a cracked internal hose (most serious).

Try safely

inspect and wipe the door gasket, check external hose connections only, and dry the floor to locate the source. Any internal leak needs a technician immediately — water plus electricity is a real hazard; unplug the machine first.

Door stuck locked, violent vibration, or dead panel

Symptoms

cycle finished but the door refuses to open; banging and shaking during spin; or no response at all.

Causes

a failed electric door lock or water still in the drum keeping it locked; worn drum bearings or suspension for the vibration; and for a dead panel — socket, cable or control board (common with unstable power).

Try safely

for the door — run a drain program and wait 3 minutes after it ends; for vibration — level all four feet and redistribute the load; for the panel — try a direct wall socket. If any persists, it needs a specialist.

Complete Ariston Washer F-Code Table

Ariston automatics diagnose themselves with F-codes on the display — or blinking lights on older models. Find your code, try the safe action — and if it persists, it needs a technician:

5 Technician Tips That Extend Your Washer's Life

  1. 1Clean the pump filter monthly — two minutes that prevent the single most common fault (F05).
  2. 2Never exceed the load rating on the door — overloading is the #1 cause of the motor and bearing faults we repair daily.
  3. 3Run an empty hot cycle with a descaler every month or two — it protects the heater from limescale (the F08 cause) and prevents damp smells.
  4. 4If your area has unstable power, use a proper voltage stabilizer — most board failures we see are voltage-related.
  5. 5Leave the door and detergent drawer slightly open after washing — it dries the gasket and drum and prevents mold and odors.

Ariston Washer Repair FAQ

What is the Ariston washing machine service number?

The short number 16062 works 24/7 for all governorates. You can also WhatsApp the model and fault to 01050887010 for a free initial diagnosis before the visit.

How much does an Ariston washer repair cost?

It depends on the fault and parts: inspection is always free, and the technician announces the complete final price before opening the machine — decide not to repair and you pay nothing. No hidden call-out or inspection fees.

My washer is still under warranty — where should I go?

If it's within the purchase warranty, use the free warranty service through the entity named on your warranty certificate. Out of warranty — most cases — we're your fastest option: same-day service, genuine parts, and a 6-month repair warranty.

I bought my washer from B.TECH — do you repair it?

Yes. We repair all Ariston washers wherever they were bought — B.TECH or any other store. Under the purchase warranty, use that free service first; out of warranty, we come to your home with genuine parts and a written 6-month warranty.

Are you the official Ariston agent?

We are a specialized Ariston service center — our specialty is repair and genuine spare parts; we are not a sales outlet of the parent company. Under the original purchase warranty, warranty service is through the entity on your certificate; out of warranty, you get the same genuine-part quality with our written 6-month warranty.

Does the technician bring spare parts?

Yes — after you describe the fault and model on the call, the technician brings the most likely parts (pump, heater, valve, door lock, sensor...), which is why the vast majority of repairs finish on the first visit.

My error code isn't in the table — what now?

Photograph the code and WhatsApp it with the model number to 01050887010 — codes differ between generations, and a washer technician will reply with a free initial diagnosis and next step.
